It's been awhile, but I returned to live radio this week with another edition of my summer replacement program, Dr. John's Idiosyncratic History of Rock & Roll. Bonus Toonerville

What are the odds that I would make a wrong turn in tiny Williamstown, Massachusetts and stumble on a place that combines two of my favorite things: Toonerville Trolley and records? But I did a couple of days ago. I stopped in and the proprietor told me he had started out selling records out of an old bus, hence the name. I bought a nice Anita O'Day box set and a collection of obscure garage rock sides compiled by Nick Salomon of Bevis Frond. Pretty much exactly the kind of stuff I'd hope to find in a place called Toonerville Records.
