Let me recommend a really great podcast that I have been listening to almost non-stop on recent long car trips. It's called The Projection Booth and it offers intensely in-depth coverage on a specific film in each episode (click the title to go to their homepage). Hosted by a fellow named Mike White, their coverage includes not just plot summaries and critical commentary (generally involving several guests) but also lengthy interviews with key figures associated with the films (actors, writers, directors, musicians, etc.) and often authors who have written extensively about that episode's subject. They've been producing these programs for over ten years and their archives appear to include all previous shows, ranging from popular favorites to hard-to-find obscurities, including classics from Hollywood's Golden Age as well as foreign masterpieces (they had a 4 hour episode devoted to Chilly Scenes of Winter, one of my all time favorites that hardly anyone I know has ever even heard of!). A real treasure trove if you are a cinephile like me.
