Pete Seeger, RIP

I should have commented on the passing of folk music legend Pete Seeger earlier.  But I never could have said anything as eloquent as this tribute from Dave Marsh.  If you consider Seeger as staggering a figure in American history as I do-- or heck, even if you don't-- it's well worth a read.

On the Street 16

This is a little different-- a set of shots taken while wandering around that contain no people (though there is one cat).  I just like the way these places look, though I'd be hard-pressed to explain exactly why in most cases (the one above is fairly easy to explain).

This Week's Top Five List

For those who may not have heard Dr. John's Record Shelf last Sunday, here's one of the highlights.  Art Vandalay is still recovering from his sports-related injury so this is actually a replay of a Top Five from way back in 2008:

This Is Cool!

Check out this video (which is even better if you love the graphics of classic jazz albums as much as I do):

On the Street 14

We have a thematic link for this set of photos-- it's people waiting for a ride, whether train, bus or cab.  Shots were taken in Madrid, Seville, Buffalo and Seattle (you can try and figure out which is which).

Black & White Las Vegas

Las Vegas is one of those places that is famous for its color-- the neon, massive video and overall spectacle of the Strip.  Still, taking out the color makes for some interesting pictures, which I hope is evident in these. These were all taken on and around Fremont Street downtown.
