Fun With the Fisheye

These were taken with the fish-eye lens I recently picked up.  I think I'm getting better at focusing the thing (it's totally manual and the depth of field is a little tricky to figure). Anyway, I', pleased with how these turned out.

What I Did Today

I spent the afternoon watching some very entertaining semi-pro soccer courtesy of the FC Buffalo Blitzers and the Fort Pitt Regiment of the National Premier Soccer League.  Naturally, I took my camera, leading to these pictures.  I have lots more which may pop up here eventually.  Turns out European style football (futball?) is incredibly photogenic. And even though the Blitzers got skunked 0-4, they played hard and their hard-core fans contributed rather continuous singing and chanting making it almost seem like I was seeing a game at Old Trafford.

Chicago

Looking West Up the Chicago River
Here are a few pictures I took while wandering around Chicago last week with my nephew Ben.  We had a great time just exploring and had fantastic weather to boot.  We also made a stop in Omaha, so look for some of those photos here later on.

What I Did Today

My nephew Ben is visiting from back east and we took a little drive around the Pioneer Mountains today, with stops at the Crystal Fields and Coolidge (an old abandoned mining operation way up in the wilderness).  Here are a few photos I took of Ben as we poked around those two places.

In Case You Were Wondering...

This blog has not ended, just gone on a more intermittent schedule as I do some other stuff as school ends and summer begins.  But I'll try to get posts up a little more regularly than the past few weeks.  In fact, Monday should see another podcast link to my radio show, and I'll have photos to share as well in the coming days.  So, I hope you will continue to check in now and again.
