This Week's Playlist and Podcast

Huntington Gardens 5
By the time I got to the Chinese Garden, there were some impressive dark clouds rolling in from the mountains to the north. It made for some great light as the sun continued to shine from the other direction.

Huntington Gardens 4
Another set of photos from the Huntington Gardens. As with the last batch, these were mostly taken in the area in and around the Japanese Garden.

Hermosa Beach
A couple of weeks back I was in Southern California and decided to head down to Hermosa Beach to photograph surfers (having read that that was the place to catch some action). Unfortunately, despite the fact that to my untrained eye the waves looked great for surfing, there was absolutely no one out there on their boards. I assume there was something about the conditions that explained this, but in any case, I went to Plan B, which was to shoot whatever else looked interesting (including said waves). Here are some of the results (including a "self-portrait"-- can you spot it?).

Huntington Gardens 3
Another set of photos taken at the Huntington Gardens in San Gabriel, California. There will likely be several more posts on this spot, as I spent about five hours roaming around the grounds, camera in hand. Today's installment includes pitures from around the area of the Australian and Japanese gardens.
