Pictures of Spain 42

This will be the last of the Spain pictures for awhile, as I've reached the end of the trip.  These shots are a few more taken while wandering around Madrid on the last night before we headed for home.  I'll probably post some others eventually, once I've had a chance to go back and review what I shot again, but in the meantime I've got plenty more from other, more recent travels this past summer.

Yesterday on the Idiosyncratic History of Rock and Roll we paid tribute to what Dave Von Ronk called "The Great Folk Scare." San Francisco 2

I'm way behind on posting pictures I took on my visit to San Francisco last May.  So here are a few to get that ball rolling again.  These were all taken in and around the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood which, as you can see retains much of its hippie heyday flavor.

Pictures of Spain 41

Here's another set of photos taken on the evening of my last day in Spain last February, namely in Madrid.  No other theme hear other than stuff I saw wandering the streets...

More Baseball Pictures

Back in mid June I attended a Buffalo Bisons-Gwinnett Braves Triple A game.  Most of the time I had my camera trained on second base and I was rewarded with a number of stolen base attempts, double plays and rundowns (though the first picture above is of Jose Constanza getting out of the way of a low inside pitch).  These are a few that turned out pretty good.

I spent part of the last evening in Spain wandering around the Atocha Station with Sara, Ceil and Katie (two of whom are somewhat visible in the photo below).  These shots were taken in and around the station.

Pictures of Spain 39

It's taken awhile, but we're finally into the last day of our visit to Spain back in February.  I'll have one or two more installments covering the very pleasant afternoon and evening spent in Madrid before heading for home.  Above is a view from my hotel room balcony, which was across the street from the Atocha Train Station just a couple blocks away from the Prado. Below is a picture of the front entrance to the Hotel Mediodia, and below that several shots taken on a visit to Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia which was also around the corner (and home to Picasso's masterpiece Guernica).
