New Lens Test

I recently bought a new lens for my camera outfit which, as you can no doubt tell from these examples, is an extreme wide-angle (aka "fisheye") model.  I went out to Bannack this morning to see what it could do and these are a few samples.  It's going to take me a little time to figure out how to use it effectively, as it has no auto-focus and trying to manually focus on the distorted image is tricky (most of these were done by just reckoning distance).  But it sure is a lot of fun to play with!

On the Street 19 (Black & White)

More shots taken while walking around with a camera in my hand.  I converted these to black and white to try and approach the classic style of the photographers whose work I especially like, including recent discovery (on my part) of the Frenchman Willy Ronis (click his name to check out his work). I'm not there yet, but I'm enjoying the ongoing, hands-on education.
