So just wondering here- I know you will focus your camera on a particular subject, but is that true all the time? For instance the photo of the food booths with the guy in the yellow hoodie - did something catch your eye there or was it just a random shot and you feel lucky to have got something?
In the photo mentioned, I spotted the kid, but didn't zoom in in order to get the bigger context (though the image is cropped from the full version). I'd say most of the time I have a specific focal point, but sometimes just shoot randomly (especially in crowded or busy scenes) to see what comes out of those kinds of situations.
