The Plaza de Americas in Seville was constructed back in the 1920s to celebrate Spain's long gone empire in the New World. These pictures were taken on my recent visit there...
Each of the alcoves around the rim of the plaza are devoted to one of the far-flung lands once controlled by Spain (Peru, Cuba, Argentina, etc.) with maps and paintings commemorating the relationship.
This was the sunniest day of our entire trip, which really worked out well with the reflecting pond in teh Plaza de Americas.
