Hi Dan, Great link-- thanks! I'm going to draw on that for my upcoming class. As for the sharpness of the picture: a) I used a monopod for extra steadiness; b) shot in burst mode (multiple shots with one depression of the shutter, increasing the odds of one good one); c) set the camera for continuous autofocus, so the moving subject remained more or less in the sweet spot during the burst; and d) did a little sharpening in Photoshop (mainly by adjusting the contrast).
