Lizzie's Backyard

I don't consider myself much of a wildlife photographer (I don't have the patience), but I had some fun one morning while visiting my sister Elizabeth in trying to capture some of the numerous birds who stopped by her backyard bird feeders.  The birds were small, about 30-40 yards away, and I was hand-holding a long zoom, so these aren't the sharpest pictures-- but they give you some idea of the variety of avian visitors who drop by (Liz could tell you what each species is, but the best I can do is differentiate them by color-- but I do think the first one is a blue jay, since he looks a lot like the image on the caps of the Toronto baseball team, and the last one is a cardinal... for basically the same reason).

  1. Hi Johnnie - the list of birds are: Tufted Titmouse (Blue Jay is much bigger and has more white), not sure, Blue Bird, Blue Bird, Tufted Titmouse, don't know, Goldfinch, Tufted Titmouse, Tufted Titmouse, Goldfinch (female), Goldfinch, Cardinal... does that help?
