Festos

Another archaeological site I visited in southern Crete was Festos, the remains of a city that dates back to about 4000 BC. It was the home of a Minoan Age palace (c 2700 BC). You can still get some sense of the scale, if not entirely the grandeur, of the place in its heyday by walking around the site today.
