Ancient Olympia was a major Panhellenic religious center that attracted visitors from around Greece, to visit the shrines there (including the Temple of Zeus) and to participate in the ancient Olympic Games. These are some photos I took on a recent visit to the archaeological site, where some of the ruins date back to the 8th century B.C.
