Mystras, Part 1

Mystras was a community built onto the slope of Mount Taygetos in south central Peloponnese, near ancient Sparta. It dates back to the Byzantine period, and consists of considerable ruins of what was once a thriving religious, scholarly, and government center.  We climbed all the way to the top of the mountain, and along the way I collected these images of some of the ancient structures, and the views down into the valley.
