One of the side effects of going to art museums (I visited three in the last week) is that I get ideas for making my photos a bit more "artistic." Obviously the results are in the eye of the beholder, but here are a few results of some experiments using effects software that I applied to some old photos of my trip to Italy back in 2008 (mostly playing around with bokeh, blurring, and surface noise/textures).
